For the second year in a row, our commitment to Inspire Trust has helped us earn recognition on Newsweek’s list of Most Trustworthy Companies in America. 

In collaboration with market research firm Statista, Newsweek compiled its third annual list by surveying about 25,000 Americans in October and November 2023. Respondents comprised of potential customers, investors, and employees ranked 700 public and private companies with headquarters in the U.S. and revenues over $500 million. Survey participants were shown a random selection of relevant companies and rated up to six they knew well, and then asked to evaluate each through the lens of their experience with the company. For example, a potential customer would evaluate the business on criteria like fair treatment, trust in products or services, and customer service, whereas a possible employee would consider fair treatment, compensation, and opportunities for career development. 

Of the 700 companies included in the Most Trustworthy Companies in America, Atmos Energy ranks 13th out of 39 companies in the Energy & Utilities industry – a significant jump up from 31st in 2023 – and we are one of only 10 companies headquartered in Dallas.  

This latest recognition from Newsweek follows other recent accolades. For the fourth consecutive year, Atmos Energy was named on the Forbes list of America’s Best Midsize Employers which was compiled based on a survey of 170,000 U.S.-based workers at American companies. Atmos Energy also appears in the very first Newsweek Excellence 1000 Index, which identifies models of corporate success and responsibility across more than 25 industries.
