Atmos Energy donated $50,000 to the Dallas Education Foundation to support six high-need DISD schools (including Charles Rice Learning Center, pictured) for iStations, a game-like, supplemental learning system that covers reading (Spanish and English), writing, and math. The content in iStation is individualized for each student and allows teacher tracking of each student’s understanding and progress.
“It’s ideal for pre-kindergarten through 5th grade and includes modules for secondary students as well,” says Dallas Education Foundation Executive Director Mita Havlick. “This is a significant investment from Atmos Energy that we were able to aggregate with a donation from our nonprofit partner, United to Learn. Without this amazing contribution, we would not be able to support all six schools.”
